LETTERS HOW DO YOU SAVE AN ASPHALT PARK?

Robin and Emmett Collins want to stop the building of Costco because it would disrupt the pristine Lancaster City Park. I don't care whether Costco gets built or not. Lancaster is not pristine. Pristine means pure, able to drink from, untouched. Robin and Emmett, that asphalt and concrete did not come from nature.

This is to all the environmental activists who would like to stop any and all building in the cities surrounding Los Angeles:

Why is it that whenever anyone wants to build something, an activist comes up with the same argument: We don't want to disturb the pristine land.

A few years ago someone wanted to restore the Los Angeles River to the pristine river that it is.

Yeah, right. It's a swamp made up of street runoff.

These people need to get a life. Everyone knows the difference between a developer and an environmentalist - the environmentalist already has their house built.
