LETTERS : GOD SMILES ON SIMI VALLEY; GAY EVENT COULD CHANGE THAT.


Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  does not need, nor do we want, a gay pride event of any kind. Ever. We are proud that our city is not like other cities, with their high crime rates and sex clubs. God has blessed Simi Valley with peace and prosperity since the beginning. So much so that, nationally, Simi Valley has been voted America's safest city three times and has been runner-up several more times. These days, that is awesome. Anyone who thinks Simi should be more like West Hollywood or San Francisco should move there.

We like our city the way it is, and that includes our minivans and lawn mowers. Is it wrong to want the good things that we have? Safety for our children, beautiful scenery and good neighbors are just a few.

Simi is the envy of the nation because God has smiled upon it. He will not continue to do so if we totally dishonor To refuse to accept or pay a draft or to pay a promissory note when duly presented. An instrument is dishonored when a necessary or optional presentment is made and due acceptance or payment is refused, or cannot be obtained within the prescribed time, or in case of bank collections,  him with this abomination festival. No-nonsense city not redneck haven

Contrary to the picture of Simi Valley as a haven of unenlightened rednecks, it is public record that the citizens are at least intelligent and savvy enough to maintain one of the safest and crime-free communities in America. Such a state of being is enviable to any community, but its cost is a no-nonsense attitude and a state of vigilance that is often misinterpreted by liberal factions as being throwback throwback

Nothing could be further from the truth. From my point of view - and, in fact, that of my friends and neighbors from Simi Valley - the Gay and Lesbian Pride Festival is regarded with mild puzzlement puz·zle·ment
