Shawn Corbeil and his wife, Connie, have three daughters, who have all witnessed the good-natured pranks of the wee folk as they were growing up. Shannon, 14, and Trisha, 11, now take a little more convincing that leprechauns are afoot, but 9-year-old Bonnie still lets her imagination soar, her father said.

``It was a wonderful sight to see my daughter Bonnie's eyes light up when she saw the dog,'' said Shawn Corbeil. ``Our whole family gets into the holiday spirit.''

``I imagine that's because she's a big dog and the little people would have have a lot of trouble holding her down,'' he said.

The Corbeils have lived in Moorpark for 15 years. And the leprechauns have been making mischief at the Corbeil home for 13 years.

When he's not chasing after leprechauns, the elder Corbeil is chasing after fires as a Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  County firefighter.

``I'm tired of the leprechauns making mischief,'' he joked on Wednesday. ``Next year I'm going to set a trap for them.''
