 LEGO NAMED TO BOARD OF CONSOLIDATED NATURAL GAS
 PITTSBURGH, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Consolidated Natural Gas Company


(NYSE: CNG) announced today that Paul E. Lego has been elected to its board of directors. Lego is chairman and chief executive officer of Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
 "Paul brings to the board 35 years of leadership experience and a broad management perspective," said George A. Davidson Jr., Consolidated's chairman and chief executive officer. "We are extremely pleased to welcome him."
 Lego is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, with bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering. He joined Westinghouse in 1956 and proceeded through the company's management ranks. In 1988, Lego was named president, chief operating officer and a member of the board. He has been chairman and chief executive officer since 1990.
 Lego serves on the boards of directors of USX Corporation and of Pittsburgh National Bank and its parent company, PNC Financial Corp. He also is chairman of the board of visitors at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Engineering and vice chairman of the U.S.-Korea Business Council.
 With the election of Lego, Consolidated's board of directors has 12 members.
 Consolidated Natural Gas Company is one of the nation's largest producers, transporters and distributors of natural gas. Its primary marketing areas for natural gas are in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, New York and other states in the Northeast. The company explores for and produces gas and oil throughout the United States and Canada.
