Two new books offer snippets of cats in character ``posing'' in historical settings in Japan and Cairo. Yoshiyuki Yaginuma, photographer for Jana Martins' new book, ``Zen Cats,'' and Lorraine Chittock, shooter of Annemarie Schimmels' pictorial, ``Cats of Cairo,'' have accomplished that very feat.
