LEADING HEALTH CARE AND WORKERS COMPENSATION COMPANIES MERGE, CORESOURCE SAYS

KIRKLAND, Wash., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- CoreSource Inc. and Burgett & Dietrich have merged operations to become one of the nation's largest health care cost-management and information companies, CoreSource said today.
CoreSource specializes in the design and implementation of managed health care, workers compensation and employee benefit programs for 2,200 self-funded employers nationwide. Burgett & Dietrich is a managed-care company which specializes in establishing cooperative partnerships between employers and providers in local communities nationwide. Burgett & Dietrich currently manages more than 150 specialized managed-care systems.
"This merger allows us to combine CoreSource's traditional strengths of reducing and controlling health care and workers compensation costs with the unique and successful health care management strategies practiced by Burgett & Dietrich," said Scott Shute, executive vice president of CoreSource's Pacific Northwest region. "We now can provide a wider diversity of health care options to Pacific Northwest businesses."
There are no immediate plans for Burgett & Dietrich to change its name, though it will be known in the marketplace as a CoreSource company. CoreSource's Pacific Northwest regional office is headquartered in Kirkland. The Northwest office serves clients in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and California. Burgett & Dietrich will continue serving its managed-care clients from its Little Rock, Ark., headquarters. CoreSource is headquartered in Northbrook, Ill., a suburb of Chicago. Combined, the companies employ more than 1,500 professionals in 27 offices and manage more than $1.4 billion in employer health care programs nationwide.
