 Honors the Best in Leadership

NAMA has named the organization's national leadership award recipients. Awards were presented at the Best of NAMA Awards Ceremony, April 11 in Denver. Below is a listing of each award and the honoree.

R.C. Ferguson Award Bob Cline

This award honors distinguished service to NAMA over the course of many years. Bob Cline, senior vice president/ managing director of CMF&Z/Bridgepoint, earns this award for his continued service to NAMA at the chapter and national levels. In addition, Cline has proven support for the Agri-Business Educational Foundation (ABEF ABEF Australian Business Excellence Framework (horticulture; Australia) ) by chairing the 10th year anniversary recognition effort.

President's Award The President's Award may mean:
  • Gaisce - The President's Award, Republic of Ireland
  • NAACP Image Award - President's Award, United States
  • Rashtrapati Award - Award given by the President of India (Rashtrapati is Hindi for President)
 Marjory Walker

The President's Award is given to the individual/organization that best responds to the national president's agenda, going beyond the norm in contributions of time, talent and resources. This year Marjory Walker receives the President's Award for sharing and expanding the president's agenda to enhance member value through chapter, regional and national activities and services.

Dilworth Award for Innovation Susie Decker and Jeff Rodewald

The Dilworth Award for Innovation is presented to persons/ organizations that represent innovative thinking. This year's recipients are Susie Decker. regional advertising manager with Learfield Communications. and Jeff Rodewald, sales executive with Successful Farming. Decker and Rodewald took the initiative in planning and conducting the first regional chapter leader training workshop in Region III. Leaders from the four chapters including Iowa, Cornbelt, Northern Prairie and North Central participated in the workshop.

Workhorse of the Year Don Schultz For the Marketing expert, see .
Don Schultz is a former president and a former vice-president of the United States Chess Federation. He was born in New York in 1937 and currently lives in Florida. He was elected vice-president on August 14 2005.
 

The Workhorse of the Year Award is an honor reserved for outstanding individual contributions to NAMA. This year the honoree is Don Schultz, president of the Missouri-Kansas NAMA chapter and VP/general manager of Doane Broadcasting. Schultz receives this award for his work as chapter president of the Mo-Kan chapter resulting in a mix of professional development meetings at company offices, social activities and community outreach projects.

Outstanding Chair Travis Brown Travis Brown is a common name shared by multiple people. Some of the more notable Travis Browns include:

This award is presented to Travis Brown, manager of government affairs with Monsanto, and Stephanie Gable, director of public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most  for the Missouri Soybean soybean, soya bean, or soy pea, leguminous plant (Glycine max, G. soja, or Soja max) of the family Leguminosae (pulse family), native to tropical and warm temperate regions of Asia, where it has been  Association. This year's meritorious achievement awards were presented to five individuals involved in activities at the chapter, regional and national levels.

Laurie Christen (North Central/Colle & McVoy)

Laurie Christen earns the meritorious achievement award for her hard work on the Region III Best of NAMA Banquet.

Nancy Johnson (North Central Chapter/Miller Meester Advertising)

Also receiving the meritorious achievement award is Nancy Johnson for her dedication and service to the student careers program.

Cheri Knoy (Southwest Chapter/Vance Publishing Corporation)

Cheri Knoy earns the meritorious achievement award for her leadership and efforts to strengthen the Southwest NAMA Chapter.

Scott Mortimer (Iowa Chapter/Successful Farming)

Scott Mortimer earns the meritorious achievement award for his focus on leader training including workshops and the chapter leader materials.

John Seatvet (Great Plains Chapter/High Plains Journal)

John Seatvet receives the meritorious achievement award for his efforts on the first Region II Best of NAMA Banquet held January 25 in Kansas City Kansas City, two adjacent cities of the same name, one (1990 pop. 149,767), seat of Wyandotte co., NE Kansas (inc. 1859), the other (1990 pop. 435,146), Clay, Jackson, and Platte counties, NW Mo. (inc. 1850). .
