 LCI INTERNATIONAL REDUCES WORLDCARD'S DOMESTIC RATES BY 28 PERCENT
 COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- LCI International today announced a 28 percent price reduction on domestic calls for its WorldCard making it among the telecommunication industry's most competitive and value rich calling cards.
 The WorldCard allows holders to place direct dial calls throughout the nation and the world from any touch tone phone in 28 countries. The card also allows LCI's customers who are international travelers to place calls from an additional 22 nations to the U.S. and Canada.
 "This rate reduction will place the WorldCard, which has already proven to be very popular with our customers, at the forefront of the industry," said Thomas J. Wynne, LCI president. "The WorldCard has been designed and priced so it will continue to be a leader in both the domestic and international long-distance calling card business. Ours is truly one of the most cost-effective ways for travelers to place domestic and international long-distance telephone calls."
 The price reduction impacts customers who make domestic calls from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. on weekdays and anytime on weekends. The new rate will be 18 cents per minute on domestic calling starting on Sept. 15, 1992, pending regulatory approval.
 LCI introduced its WorldCard in November 1991 and domestic calls at that time cost a flat fee of 25 cents per minute around the clock. Under the new pricing plan, only daytime domestic calls (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday) will remain at 25 cents per minute.
 International calling prices remain unaffected by the domestic price reduction. Those charges vary from country to country and the time of day calls are made.
 Since LCI announced the WorldCard ten months ago, more than 50,000 cards have gone into service, according to Eric Mattlin, manager of LCI's international services. The demand for the travel card has been especially high among the company's residential customers.
 "The WorldCard is also another advantage of LCI's Simple, Fair and Inexpensive residential service," Mattlin said. "The card allows customers to conveniently place long distance calls when they are away from home."
