 LCI INTERNATIONAL CONTINUES AGGRESSIVE PROGRAM TO ADD
 RESIDENTIAL LONG DISTANCE CUSTOMERS WITH NATIONAL ADVERTISING
 COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- LCI International will advertise nationally on television its SIMPLE, FAIR and INEXPENSIVE (SF&I) long-distance residential service making the company only the fourth carrier in the nation to sell its residential service coast to coast.
 LCI International -- becoming known as a very different long distance phone company -- will run its ads on ABC television Sept. 27 during the telecast of the Nationwide Insurance Championship Golf Tournament from the Country Club of the South in Atlanta.
 LCI is a nationwide carrier of both business and residential service and has experienced phenomenal growth. During the past twelve months, the company's minutes of use and revenues have grown at a rate that exceeds by three times that of the telecommunications industry overall.
 Under LCI's SF&I plan, residential customers pay no monthly fees and only one of two domestic rates -- 12 cents per minute weekdays between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. and all weekends, and 17 cents per minute any other time for any interstate calls. Plus, LCI customers pay only for the time they talk rounded to six-second increments. The other major carriers charge their customers with full-minute rounding. If LCI's customers talk for five minutes and six seconds, they are charged for that amount -- not six minutes.
 Unlike the long distance calling plans of LCI's competitors, distance does not affect the price of the call -- meaning the cost is the same if the call is made from New York to Philadelphia or from New York to Los Angeles.  "This particular advertising will be our first opportunity to showcase LCI International on a national basis and to show why we truly are a very different long-distance phone company," said Thomas J. Wynne, LCI's president.
