Marjory Seeger, who founded the group home more than 30 years ago, said she did not know about the lawsuit and could not comment. Seeger said there are now six boys at the home. In August 2000, a 12-year-old boy was removed from the group home and placed in protective custody An arrangement whereby a person is safeguarded by law enforcement authorities in a location other than the person's home because his or her safety is seriously threatened. after three younger boys told authorities he molested them, officials said. The boys, ranging in age from 9 to 11, were interviewed by authorities and examined by a doctor before being returned to the home, sheriff's deputies said. Officials said then that because of his age, the 12-year-old likely will not be prosecuted but ordered to undergo counseling at a more intensive treatment center. ``Plaintiff alleges that each defendant failed to close facility at Seegers or failed to stop sending children there when they knew or should have known of problems with Seegers Circle JM Ranch in the past,'' the lawsuit said. |
