LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST APPLE COMPUTER

 CUPERTINO, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Apple Computer Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: AAPL) today announced that a lawsuit has been filed against the company and certain officers and directors for making allegedly misleading statements regarding the company's business prospects and outlook for growth in earnings. The lawsuit alleges violation of federal securities laws.
 The company believes the lawsuit is totally without merit, intends to oppose all claims, and expects to prevail on the merits.
 The suit, Rovner v. Sculley, was filed on July 21, 1993, in United States District Court, Northern District of California.
 The plaintiffs seek to bring suit on behalf of all purchasers of Apple common stock between Oct. 15, 1992, and July 15, 1993. The plaintiffs did not specify the damages sought.
