LAUSD PARES BACK GRANT AG PROGRAM NOW ONLY ON WEEKENDS, AFTER SCHOOL.Byline: Lisa M. Sodders Staff Writer VAN NUYS - Grant High School was unable to save its successful agriculture program but will offer some classes after school and on Saturdays, although without its popular instructor, officials said Thursday. It is a trade center and railroad division point for an oil and natural gas area. It has oil refineries, grain elevators, and flour mills. But he said he was glad the classes will continue. ``That's better than nothing,'' he said. ``To be able to save the program - that's the bottom line for me.'' The adult education division hopes to eventually align the program with Pierce College In 2006 the Library won a national Excellence award. Academics Pierce College offers associate's degrees, mainly in the arts and sciences.
