LAUREN AND AMY ALCOTT IN THE BAY STATE

LAUREN AND AMY ALCOTT IN THE BAY STATE
NEW YORK, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Lauren, the classic American

fragrance from Ralph Lauren is a proud first-time sponsor of women's golf and the LPGA Bay State Classic. To tee-off tournament week, LPGA superstar, Amy Alcott will appear at Filene's, downtown Boston, from 12:30-2 p.m. on Monday, July 27th. Saturday, Aug. 1 has been designated Lauren Fragrance Day at the 1992 LPGA Bay State Classic at Blue Hill Country Club.
Lauren and Amy Alcott are perfectly suited for each other. Known for her all-American girl image, Alcott is the ideal spokesperson for this contemporary, yet classic, sporty fragrance. "Lauren has been my fragrance of choice for years and it pleases me that Lauren will be aligned with women's golf," says Alcott, of her signature scent. At her personal appearance on the first floor of Filene's, Alcott will answer golf questions and preside over a raffle which will offer two Bay State Classic Pro-Am playing packages and five lavish Lauren golf gift baskets. The drawing will be at 2 p.m., on Monday, July 27 at Filene's downtown store, 426 Washington St., Boston; phone number 617-357-2768.
Lauren is a casual, yet sophisticated green floral, and its fresh blend of marigold, jonquil, violet, jasmine and carnation is a natural for outdoor activities like golf. Refreshing and light, it evokes a classic elegant style that says so much about the woman who wears it. It speaks of simplicity and timeless grace and is perfectly suited for the spirited American woman.
Week-long activities under the Lauren marquee will include fragrance sampling, a putting green with incentives and the opportunity to purchase the full range of the Lauren line. Lauren Fragrance Day events will take place Aug. 1 at the Bay State Classic in Canton, a Boston suburb, and will be the culmination of the week's activities. Amy Alcott will also visit the Lauren marquee to give some putting tips and to conduct a prize drawing to include autographed copies of her golf video and instruction book.
Alcott won the Bay State Classic in 1989 in great style, setting a tournament record for the lowest score all four rounds, coming in at 16 under par. Since that exciting win, the Bay State Classic has moved to its present site at Blue Hill Country Club, and Amy will have the challenge of playing this new course and perhaps improving on her tournament record.
Amy Alcott has been a professional golfer since 1975. In that time she has become the LPGA's 6th all-time money winner and needs only one more tournament win to qualify for the LPGA Hall of Fame.
