Byline: Daily News

Former Dodgers manager Tom Lasorda underwent his second angioplasty angioplasty (ăn`jēōplăs'tē), any surgical repair of a blood vessel, especially

balloon angioplasty or percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, a treatment of coronary artery disease.
in just over three months Friday afternoon after an examination at Centinela Hospital Medical Center.

Lasorda, who stepped down as Dodgers manager in July after suffering a heart attack, underwent tests Friday, which revealed that the coronary artery coronary artery

Michael Mellman said he expected Lasorda to be released within a few days.

Lasorda underwent the first angioplasty June 26 after a mild heart attack forced him to leave the club. In the procedure, the artery artery, blood vessel that conveys blood away from the heart. Lasorda, who now serves as a Dodgers vice president, lost 12 pounds during recovery, but stepped down as manager July 29. Lasorda was told by doctors his greatest risk of further clogging would occur during the first three months.
