LASERSCOPE FIRST TO OFFER LASER SYSTEM UPTIME GUARANTEE
SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Laserscope (NASDAQ: LSCP) announced today that it is offering an unprecedented 99 percent uptime guarantee on its 800-series Surgical Laser Systems. It is the first company in the industry to offer such a guarantee.
"Laserscope is committed to offering high-quality, highly reliable products and backing those products with responsive and innovative service," said Robert V. McCormick, Laserscope's senior vice president of marketing and field operations.
The company's 99 percent uptime guarantee for its 800-series systems under a system warranty or Total Care Service Agreement is in effect on all systems sold since Nov. 1, 1991. If system downtime exceeds 1 percent during the term of the warranty or Total Care Service Agreement, the warranty or contract will be extended by one month for each additional 1 percent of downtime without charge to the customer.
"We believe we are the first surgical systems company to offer the customer this measure of assurance," said McCormick.
Laserscope, a leading surgical systems company, designs, manufactures and markets an advanced line of KTP/532(TM) and KTP/YAG(TM) Surgical Laser Systems, instrumentation, accessories and disposables. The company's service organization is one of the largest and most highly trained in the industry, with field service engineers strategically positioned to provide customers with prompt and efficient service.
Laserscope markets its products to hospitals and out-patient surgical centers in the United States and United Kingdom through its own direct sales force and through exclusive distributor arrangements in Europe, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia and Singapore.
The company's systems are exceptionally well suited to minimally invasive applications in gynecology, urology, dermatology, neurosurgery, back and general surgery and ear, nose and throat surgery.
