Saugus 25, Quartz Hill 21: Ryan Zirbel rushed for 92 yards and 22 carries, including three touchdowns, to lift the visiting Centurions (3-3) past Quartz Hill (1-5).

Zirbel's 10-yard touchdown with 5:30 remaining capped a comeback Saugus' comeback from a 21-12 third-quarter deficit.

Quartz Hill's Alex Hutchison threw touchdown passes of 34 yards to Donte Hemmans and 7 to Clark Steele, but he fumbled on the Rebels' 31-yard line with 30 seconds to play.

Nick Gauthier completed 14 of 21 passes for 138 yards for Saugus. Kyle Monson had six receptions for 72 yards and returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.

Hueneme 18, Camarillo 16: Jorge Vazquez missed a 31-yard field goal with 4 1/2 seconds to play, and Hueneme of Oxnard (4-2) held on to win its league opener at Camarillo.

Vazquez connected on a 45-yard field goal to give the Scorpions (1-5) an early 3-0 lead.

Josh Riley completed 11 of 26 passes for 134 yards and three touchdowns for Hueneme.
