Disney's presence in China is quickly growing. The entertainment and media conglomerate's presence in that country already includes a theme park and hotels, television programming, film, home entertainment products, live entertainment, consumer products, publishing and Internet properties.

On Wednesday, Disney's Buena Vista International Inc. announced that it had entered into a co-production agreement with Centro Digital Pictures Ltd. of Hong Kong and The China Film Group Corporation for the production of ``The Secret of the Magic Gourd gourd (gôrd, grd), common name for some members of the Cucurbitaceae, a family of plants whose range includes all tropical and subtropical areas and extends into the temperate zones. ,'' which began principal photography in Hangzhou, China, in October. It marks The Walt Disney Studios' first co-production project in China.

``Housewives'' is already among the ABC shows that Disney has made available for downloading on Apple Computer Inc.'s new video iPod, part of the company's ongoing strategy of testing new distribution channels for its television and movie content.
