LANDS' END TO CLOSE FOX VALLEY OUTLET STORE

DODGEVILLE, Wis., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Lands' End, Inc. (NYSE: LE), the direct merchant of traditionally styled casual clothing, announced its decision to close its Fox Valley Outlet store located at 4320 New York Street in Aurora, Ill.
The store, which opened in September 1987, will close its doors at the end of business on Jan. 26, 1993. All employees at the store have been offered the opportunity to transfer to jobs at other Lands' End outlets.
Director of stores John Maher said, "Our customers who have been shopping at Fox Valley will be able to go to the Yorktown store in Lombard, just 12 miles from Aurora. Since Yorktown is twice the size, we'll be able to offer an even larger selection of merchandise to our customers." The company will continue to operate its 12 other outlet stores in Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa, which are not affected by the closing.
Lands' End outlet stores do not carry a full line of items offered in the catalog, but concentrate on liquidation of overstocks and end-of- season merchandise at a significant discount off the catalog price.
