 LANDS' END ELECTS TWO VICE PRESIDENTS IN MERCHANDISING DIVISION
 DODGEVILLE, Wis., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Lands' End, Inc. (LE), today announced that it has named Gary R. Steuck vice president, inventory, and Joan T. Plansky vice president, quality assurance. The appointments are effective May 1.
 In his new position, Steuck, 43, will work with David L. Schlotterback, executive vice president, inventory, during a transition period until Schlotterback's intended retirement later this year. At that time, Steuck will assume full responsibility for the company's inventory control function.
 Steuck joined Lands' End as director, computer services, in 1982. In 1989, he was promoted to vice president, quality assurance, where he managed a staff of more than 100 employees responsible for ensuring the stringent quality and fit standards for all Lands' End products.
 Prior to joining Lands' End, Steuck was employed with IBM in marketing and with the State of Wisconsin in their management information systems operations.
 Plansky, 34, joined the company in 1986 as quality assurance specialist and was promoted to manager, quality assurance, in February 1990. Her career also includes nine months as a technical designer for R.H. Macy & Company in New York, preceded by five years in quality assurance for both apparel and hardgoods for the Fingerhut Corp. in Minnesota. She will report to David F. Dyer, vice chairman, merchandising.
 Plansky attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics and a Master's degree in Apparel, Textiles and Design.
 Lands' End is an international direct merchant of casual clothing for men, women and children, accessories, soft luggage, and products for bed and bath.
