LANCASTER WINS COMMUNICATION HONORS NEWSLETTER, ANNIVERSARY BOOK LAUDED.

LANCASTER - The California Association of Public Information Officials presented the city of Lancaster The City of Lancaster (2002 population: 133,914) is a local government district with city status in Lancashire, England. Its main town is Lancaster, from which it obtained its city status. Other towns in the district include Morecambe, Heysham, Slyne, and Carnforth.  with several awards for quality and excellence in communication.

The city's public information officer, Anne Aldrich, accepted the awards at CAPIO's annual state conference, where Lancaster was presented with first-place awards in writing and in special event or marketing/communications campaign for its 25th anniversary celebration.

The city also won third place in the community newsletter division for its Outlook magazine and honorable mention in the special publication category for its 25th Anniversary Commemorative Book.

Aldrich envisioned the year-long celebration, aimed to reach every resident in the city with ideas for celebration.

The writing award was for the anniversary commemorative book titled ``Partners in Progress, City of Lancaster, The First 25 Years.'' Jennifer Motes, the city's administrative intern intern /in·tern/ (in´tern) a medical graduate serving in a hospital preparatory to being licensed to practice medicine.
