LANCASTER MAN HELD IN EATERY ROBBERIES.Byline: Daily News LANCASTER -- A Lancaster man has been charged with takeover robberies at two local restaurants. Casey Nunez, 36, is charged with robbing Barone's restaurant on Avenue I on Aug. 28 and Casa Roma Roma, peopleRoma, people: see Gypsies. restaurant on Avenue J-2 on Sept. 20, deputies said.At both Barone's and Casa Roma, the robber ordered patrons to lie down on the floor, sheriff's Sgt. Craig Husbands said. Nunez was arrested Sept. 20 after a deputy spotted him in a vehicle that resembled one used by the robber hours earlier at Casa Roma, officials said. Nunez led deputies on a short pursuit before he was arrested, officials said. A search Thursday of Nunez's residence turned up undisclosed evidence that deputies said linked him to the Barone's robbery and to other takeover-style robberies. Husbands said detectives are investigating Nunez's involvement in other robberies. Nunez was jailed with bail set at $200,000. |
