LAN Airlines receives the fleet's Twentieth Boeing 767-300 aircraft.


Throughout the Year the Airline Has Received Eight Additional New Airbus 319 Jets for Domestic and Regional Service

 -- The latest addition to the LAN Airlines LAN Airlines S.A. NYSE: LFL (formerly Lan Chile) is an airline based in Santiago, Chile. It is the principal Chilean airline and one of the largest in South America, with flights to Latin America, Canada, United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Oceania, and Europe.  fleet - a Boeing 767-300 has arrived, marking the 20th long haul Long distance. The new aircraft joins the rest of the airline's long-haul fleet which includes 9 Boeing 767-300F cargo jets and 4 Airbus A340 that operate routes to Europe and Australia.

This year, LAN Airlines and its cargo subsidiary, LAN Cargo, have received 5 new Boeing 767-300s, including four passenger aircraft and one cargo jet as part of the growth and renewal of the airline's fleet.

In addition, 8 new short haul Airbus A319s have been incorporated into the LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  alliance to replace the Boeing 737-200s that are ceasing operation as of mid 2007 as part of the fleet renewal. The additions are part of the newest generation of aircraft providing a substantial upgrade in service, quality and comfort.

Between 2006 and 2008, the LAN Airline Alliance will receive a total of 13 Boeing 767-300s which will join 32 Airbus A320, A319 and A318 summing up to a total of 45 airliners and an approximate investment of US$ 2 billion.

The new Boeing 767-300s will carry LAN's new Premium Business Class, which blends the best of First and Business Class together to offer a product that only select airlines in the world can deliver. The new concept is based on what business travelers value most on long-haul flights: the ability to rest. . New down comforters and soft pillows create a true bed experience, and dividing panels between seats offer maximum privacy during the flight. The new economy seats also have an increased recline with forward-sliding cushions that offer a greater sense of comfort.

Inflight entertainment is also receiving an upgrade on both Premium Business and Economy classes, as of 2007, placing LAN in the forefront of the industry by offering one of the largest selections of entertainment among the world's airlines.

LAN is investing approximately 50% of its profit, approximately US$100 million dollars in the product it offers clients in its long haul service operated by its Boeing 767-300 fleet. The LAN Alliance fleet is currently comprised of 70 passenger and 10 cargo jets.
