Lakeside Golf Club discriminates against women by preventing them from becoming members and by limiting them to undesirable tee times, says the suit filed by Reginald Lee Reginald Robinson Lee (May 19, 1870 – August 6, 1913) was one of two lookouts stationed in the crow's nest, alongside Frederick Fleet, when the RMS Titanic collided with an iceberg at 11:40 p.m. on April 14th, 1912.  and Jennifer Merkel of Sherman Oaks.

When Lee and Merkel complained, the suit claims, the club responded by scheduling a hearing for Wednesday to terminate Lee's membership.

He did not deny the lawsuit's allegations and declined to comment further.

Before filing the lawsuit Thursday, Lee's wife spoke with the local chapter of the National Organization for Women, which plans to send Lakeside a letter seeking an explanation, said Jan Tucker, NOW co-president.

``These people must think they have the wagon circled and they are going to keep time from going forward,'' Tucker said. ``They don't understand this is the 21st century and this is California and people are not going to allow this.''

For 82 years, Lakeside's roster has boasted Hollywood's biggest stars. Terrell, who declined to release the membership, said it still includes celebrities, entertainment executives, news anchors and politicians.

The widely respected 18-hole course, which forms the southern bank of Toluca Lake, occasionally hosts charity events and also is used by local high school and college golf teams.

``It's hard for me to believe that Lakeside would allow naked women to be serving liquor on the golf course,'' said Bob Thomas For the Irish footballer, see .
