Hollinger was born on May 17, 1971 and grew up in Mahwah, New Jersey. He is a graduate the University of Virginia.  projecting how productive Shaquille O'Neal Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal (pronounced "shak-KEEL") (born March 6, 1972 in Newark, New Jersey), frequently referred to simply as Shaq, is an American professional basketball player, generally regarded as one of the most dominant in the National Basketball Association (NBA).  will be by the end of the five-year, $100 million extension he signed with Miami before this season.

Hollinger evaluated past centers similar to O'Neal - including David Robinson, Hakeem Olajuwon and Patrick Ewing - and came to the conclusion that the Heat's franchise center would experience about a 15 percent decline by the 2009-10 season.

O'Neal is averaging career-lows of 20.1 points and 9.2 rebounds this season and is playing 30.5 minutes a game. Hollinger calculated O'Neal's productivity on a points and rebounds per 40 minute basis.

With O'Neal averaging 26.4 points and 12.1 rebounds per 40 minutes this season, Hollinger estimates he will be averaging 21.0 points and 12.3 rebounds per 40 minutes as he plays past his 37th birthday.

That would translate to about 15.8 points and 9.2 rebounds if O'Neal could still play 30 minutes in 2009-10. What Hollinger concedes he cannot take into account is O'Neal's susceptibility to injury; the former MVP center will play at most 61 games this season.

Injury report: Jackson said center Chris Mihm probably would not be ready to return from a severely sprained right ankle next weekend.
