LAKE DUMPING STOPPED, CONGRESSMAN ASSURED.

The Army Corps of Engineers has stopped dumping debris in a lake at Hansen Dam Hansen Dam in Los Angeles County, California was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District in 1939 and 1940. The project is located near the northern edge of the San Fernando Valley on Tujunga Wash, about one mile below the confluence of the Big Tujunga Wash , and disposal activity will not resume until the community has been involved, the area's congressman said Wednesday.

Rep. Howard L. Berman, D-Mission Hills, said he received personal assurances from the agency that the dumping would be halted following complaints from community members.

``I am thrilled that the Corps has stopped its dumping and I am pleased that they have promised to actively involve the community in all discussions about the ultimate disposition of the lake,'' Berman said.

A community meeting will be held today in Sunland to discuss what the Corps of Engineers should do with the piles piles: see hemorrhoids.  of debris created by the repair of the Hansen Dam swimming lake.

The meeting will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. today in the Sunland-Tujunga Municipal Building, 7747 Foothill Blvd.

Completing the $3 million repair required contractors to remove sediment sediment, mineral or organic particles that are deposited by the action of wind, water, or glacial ice. These sediments can eventually form sedimentary rocks (see rock). , concrete and other debris from the lake. All of the debris was then placed in a nearby borrow pit Noun 1. borrow pit - a pit created to provide earth that can be used as fill at another site
