LADBROKE RACING CORPORATION APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT

 LIVONIA, Mich., Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Ladbroke Racing Corporation announced today that John R. Long has been appointed president and chief operating officer, effective immediately.
 Long previously held the position of vice president of operations with responsibility for the development of Ladbroke's highly successful Pennsylvania operations which includes Ladbroke at The Meadows racetrack and the off-track betting system.
 The announcement followed the resignation of David J. Goodwill as president and chief operating officer. He has left Ladbroke to pursue other business interests.
 Long, who joined Ladbroke in June 1989, has 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including executive-level positions managing multi-unit operations, concept development, marketing and franchising.
 He is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado and currently resides in McMurray, Pa.
 Ladbroke Racing Corporation is one of the largest owners of race tracks in the United States. The company is headquartered in Livonia, and owns and operates off-track betting facilities, thoroughbred, harness and dog racing tracks throughout the United States.
