LABARGE RECEIVES $2.6 MILLION CONTRACT FROM HUGHES AIRCRAFT COMPANY

 ST. LOUIS, Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- LaBarge, Inc. (AMEX: LB) today announced that it has been awarded a one-year follow-on contract valued at $2.6 million, with an option for an additional $1.8 million, for the production of naval shipboard display equipment for the AN/UYQ-21 program.
 The contract extends LaBarge's production of this equipment through its fiscal year 1995, according to Craig E. LaBarge, chief executive officer and president of LaBarge, Inc.
 The AN/UYQ-21 is the U.S. Navy's standard shipboard display. It is used on aircraft carriers, Aegis destroyers and Aegis cruisers as well as other classes of ships.
 The contract, awarded by Hughes Aircraft Company, continues the company's long involvement in the program. LaBarge has been producing this equipment since 1987 at its facility in Huntsville, Ark. The program has involved as many as 35 LaBarge employees.
 Craig E. LaBarge had the following comments:
