LA TIMES AEROSPACE REPORTER LATEST 'CORPORATE ASSASSIN'
IN TJFR BUSINESS NEWS REPORTER SERIES
RIDGEWOOD, N.J., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Ralph Vartabedian, the hard- hitting aerospace and defense industries reporter at the Los Angeles Times, is the latest business journalist to be profiled in TJFR Business News Reporter's ongoing "Corporate Assassins" series.
According to the Business News Reporter, the twice-monthly newsletter that tracks the nation's business and financial media, Vartabedian has used his Southern California base and a long list of inside industry sources to uncover stores about abuse and wastefulness that Washington-based aerospace and defense reporters often miss. Vartabedian's close monitoring of Northrup Corporation's problems with its MX missile's guidance system helped trigger five congressional hearings and earned him a Gerald Loeb Award for distinguished business and financial journalism.
Vartabedian's stories, while always clear, thorough and informative, are also tough on the industry he covers. While the targets of his reports never question the accuracy of his information, they occasionally complain about the approach he takes and the developments he chooses to highlight.
