LA TEKO RESOURCES ANNOUNCES HIRING OF PROJECT MANAGER FOR RYAN LODE MINE AND INCREASE IN BUDGET FOR 1993

SALT LAKE CITY, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- La Teko Resources Ltd. (NASDAQ: LAORF) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Citigold Alaska Inc., announced today the hiring of Richard A. Hughes as the new project manager for the Ryan Lode Mine located near Fairbanks, Alaska. Hughes has an engineering degree from the Mackay School of Mines in Nevada and has 35 years experience in the mining business. He has managed projects in Alaska for 13 years and is a past president and director of the Alaska Miners' Association.
The company has increased its exploration budget for 1993 to $3.4 million principally to accommodate additional drilling, metallurgical testing, claim acquisition and the initiation of environmental permitting for its Ryan Lode Mine.
It is the stated objective of La Teko's management to increase the certified ore reserves at the Ryan Lode Mine from 636,000 ounces of gold to more than 1 million ounces of gold through an aggressive drilling program this summer. The existing 636,000-ounce reserve is contained in 8 million tons of ore which can be open-pit mined. The reserve is contained in a certified resource of some 1 million ounces gold, and the resource is deemed to have a potential of 3 million ounces gold.
The company has acquired additional claims and has nearly doubled its original land holdings of 700 acres in the Ester Dome district since completion of its 1992 exploration program.
