Deposits increased 9.7 percent to $50.7 billion, while net income for first six months of 2005 rose 24.4 percent to $487.2 million from the year-ago period. East West Bank moved up two spots to No. 2 with a 36.7 percent increase in assets, to $6.7 billion at June 30.
