1383, would provide significant benefits for all Los Angeles
and California communities and will be explained.

WHY: SB1, the Million Solar Roofs legislation, co-authored by
Senator Kevin Murray (D-Culver City) and John Campbell
(R-Orange County) and sponsored by Governor Schwarzenegger
represents the nation's largest investment in solar
technology. It would dramatically increase California's
supply of decentralized renewable power that would improve
California's health, increase jobs and help stop global
warming. SB1, along with a companion bill AB1383, authored
by Assembly member Fran Pavley (D-Agoura Hills) and
sponsored by Global Green USA, will provide affordable
housing developers with financial incentives to increase the
number of solar units installed on low-income housing in
California.
SB1, recently passed the Senate with bi-partisan support and
awaits approval by the Assembly. AB 1383 has passed the
Assembly and awaits approval by the Senate.
