The Association of Professional Baseball Players of America will present Dodgers minor-league player Andrew Lambo with the Most Outstanding First-Year Player Award on Wednesday.

Former Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda, who is a director of the APBPA, will present Lambo with the award.

Lambo, a Newbury Park native who was drafted in the fourth round of the 2007 draft, batted .343 for the Gulf Coast League Dodgers. Lambo played in 54 games and posted a .960 OPS while hitting five home runs, 15 doubles and 32 RBI in only 181 at-bats. The former Newbury Park High standout hit an astounding .375 and put up a 1.017 OPS in August, the last month of the GCL season.
