Byline: -- Rich Hammond Rich Hammond
Los Angeles Daily News sports writer. Instrumental in bringing the Los Angeles Kings hockey organization closer to the fans. He is the atypical "what a guy" to Kings fans everywhere.

Rich Hammond on himself.

There's been some talk of, "Now that the Ducks won, the Kings MUST get better."

Not so fast.

(Dean) Lombardi Lom·bar·di   , Vincent Thomas Known as "Vince." 1913-1970.

American football coach who led the Green Bay Packers to six conference titles and five league championships between 1961 and 1968.
has a plan and that involves building the organization from the ground up.

He's not going to panic and bring in four big-time free agents just because the Ducks won.

You can bet there was some big-time irritation irritation /ir·ri·ta·tion/ (ir?i-ta´shun)

2. a state of overexcitation and undue sensitivity.ir´ritative

in El Segundo El Segundo (ĕl sēgŭn`dō), industrial city (1990 pop. 15,223), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1917. Its products include navigation and computer systems, aircraft parts, office machines, telephone apparatus, and  this week, but there's not going to be an emotional reaction on the part of the Kings.
