L.A. CONFIDENTIAL.

Byline: -- Joe Stevens

Well, it's officially the dead period in the NBA, unless you're watching the Mavericks and Heat in the Finals.

Officially, no negotiating is allowed between teams and free agents until July 1.

The Clippers have four big orders of business they'd like to take care of this offseason:

1) Re-sign Sam Cassell;

2) Sign coach Mike Dunleavy to a contract extension;

3) Re-sign free agent Vladimir Radmanovic;

4) Get Chris Kaman to agree to a contract extension.

They could wait until next summer to re-sign Kaman, which is why that move is fourth in these ``power rankings.'' Re-signing Kaman and Shaun Livingston definitely will test the purse strings of owner Donald Sterling. However, he probably won't be able to justify letting one of those guys walk.
