CONFIDENTIAL.Byline: -- Daily News Misty May-Treanor swept the AVP Tour's postseason awards, winning her third straight MVP trophy and team of the year honors with partner Kerri Walsh at the post-season awards ceremony in Beverly Hills on Thursday night. May-Treanor also won best offensive and defensive player awards for the second straight season. She and Walsh won the team honor for the fifth consecutive year. May-Treanor and Walsh won 13 of 15 women's tournaments this season, never finishing worse than third. They had a 76-3 match record and lost 14 games all season. Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers won 10 tournaments and won team honors on the men's side. Dalhausser was chosen MVP and best offensive player. Rogers shared best defensive player honors with Sean Rosenthal. The most improved awards went to last year's rookies of the year -- Brad Keenan and April Ross. This year's rookies of the year were Billy Strickland and Jenny Kropp. |
