L.A. CONFIDENTIAL.

Byline: - Ross Siler

Put in a call Friday afternoon to Mark Bartelstein, one of the NBA's top agents, who represents Devean George Devean Jamar George (born August 29 1977 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. He typically plays small forward but because of his athleticism and defensive activity, can defend many shooting guards as well.  and Brian Cook For other persons named Brian Cook, see Brian Cook (disambiguation).

, among many players.

He said there's nothing new with George, whose run with the Lakers See Lake poets  will come to an end after seven seasons.

The list of teams interested in George was Cleveland, Denver, Washington, the Clippers, San Antonio San Antonio (săn ăntō`nēō, əntōn`), city (1990 pop. 935,933), seat of Bexar co., S central Tex., at the source of the San Antonio River; inc. 1837.  and Phoenix.

I also asked about how the Lakers' agreement with Vladimir Radmanovic will affect Cook's status. Maybe Cook wants out -- he'll be a restricted free agent next summer -- but Bartelstein didn't suggest that in our conversation.

By the way, the Lakers still could spend the $1.75 million bi-annual salary cap exception on a free agent this summer.

The catch is that they could not use it come next summer. It is not good for consecutive years.
