L.A. BRIEFS : OFFICER SHOT, KILLED IN ROAD-RAGE CLASH.ANAHEIM - An off-duty state correctional officer was shot to death in a freeway argument as her husband and 10-year-old daughter looked on, police said Sunday. The 40-year-old state correctional officer, whose name was not released, was shot at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday after a car with four men inside began chasing the family's Kia sports utility vehicle on the Riverside Freeway. ``They had been chased for a long period of time'' police Sgt. Joe Vargas said. The woman got off the freeway at East Street and was trying to return when the other car forced her to the side of the on-ramp. The men then argued with the woman, who was shot as she stood outside the car. She was pronounced dead at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, Vargas said. The woman's husband and daughter were uninjured. It was unclear whether she knew her attackers or what the argument involved, Vargas said. ``She will be missed by me personally, and, incidentally, some of the inmates that have commented on the fact that they also miss her,'' said Ernie Roe, warden at the state prison in Lancaster. - Associated Press Man slain near Willowbrook park WILLOWBROOK - A man was shot to death Sunday near a Willowbrook park, a sheriff's spokesman said.
