L.A. BEAT : USC THEY'RE HOLDING THE LINE.

Despite the attention focused on the offensive line's struggles, there is little chance of major changes in USC's starting lineup For the line of action figures, see .
A starting lineup in sports refers to the set of players actively participating in the event when the game begins. The players in the starting lineup are commonly referred to as starters, whereas the others are substitutes

Offensive tackle Phalen Pounds, who did not start against Washington State, will begin playing full-time if he is healthy after this week's bye. Rome Douglas started in place of Pounds, who was bothered by back spasms.

No other changes are being considered on the line.

It seems far more likely that if a change is made, it might come at tailback, as freshman Malaefou MacKenzie Matthew Mark Maleafou Anesi MacKenzie (born July 24, 1979) is an American football fullback who played in the National Football League in 2003. College career

 waits on recruits

UCLA coach Gary Adams has another week to keep his fingers crossed to see if two top high school recruits Chase Utley (shotstop, Long Beach Poly) and Chad Cislak (pitcher, Tuscon, Arizona) enroll in Westwood or sign pro baseball contracts with the Dodgers.

Both were drafted by the Dodgers. Calsses begin at UCLA on Sept. 25.

The Dodgers have already helped the Bruins by signing two of USC's top recruits, pitcher Jared Moon out of Redondo High and outfielder Jorge Piedra from Notre Dame.

``I told the Dodgers to spend all their money on Moon and Piedra so they wouldn't have any left for our two guys,'' Adams said.
