L-3 Communications Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: LLL) is a company that supplies command, control, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C3ISR) systems and
 acquired Raytheon Systems Company. As a result, L-3's Link Simulation and Training Division continues to supply a growing catalogue of simulators, training services and on-demand instruction. The company serves the military, government agencies, education institutions and private businesses.

Technical capabilities include simulator production and modification, distance learning training-systems management, research and aircraft maintenance training.

L-3 constantly seeks new methods, while employing commercial-off-the-shelf products and technologies.

This year, the company secured a contract through Boeing, worth a reported $36.5 million, to build and upgrade flight simulators flight simulator, device providing a controlled environment in which a flight trainee can experience conditions approximating those of actual flight.
