L-3 Communications to Provide Tactical Quiet Generators to U.S. Army.Business Editors/High-Tech Writers NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 2004 L-3 Communications (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :LLL LLL abbr. left lower lobe (of the lung) ) announced today that its Westwood Corporation business unit has received orders from the U.S. Army CECOM CECOM Communications Electronics Command (US Army) CECOM National Center for Communications of the Civil Protection Agency Acquisition Center totaling $12 million for Tactical Quiet Generators. These orders are an add-on to an existing Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ ID/IQ Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity ID/IQ Indefinite Duration/Indefinite Quantity ) contract raising the total amount of orders placed to date to $39.6 million. In consideration of current forward deployments of U.S. military assets worldwide, it is anticipated that this contract, which is valid through fiscal year 2007, will grow to approximately $80 million. L-3 Communications Westwood Corporation has been in continuous production on the 30/60 kilowatt Tactical Quiet Generators since 1999, fielding over 3,700 units while completing a previous contract and performing ahead of the contractual requirements on the existing production.
