L-3 Communications Integrated Systems Wins $1.5 Billion Contract to Provide Logistics Support to Special Operations Command.

) announced today that its Integrated Systems division has been awarded the largest single contract in the company's history, a $1.5 billion, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ IDIQ Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (contracting/procurement) ) program to provide logistics products and services to the U.S. Special Operations Command A subordinate unified or other joint command established by a joint force commander to plan, coordinate, conduct, and support joint special operations within the joint force commander's assigned operational area. With an effective date of April 1, 2003, the contract includes a base year followed by four option-years and five incentive award-term years.

The program, known as the Special Operations Forces-Support Activity (SOF-SA), provides logistics support to USSOCOM, its component commands, selected Department of Defense customers, and designated government agencies. The Lexington, Kentucky-based Joint Operations Group (JOG), a business unit of L-3 Communications Integrated Systems, will execute the program.

The award represents the next step of continuing support for USSOCOM's competitively awarded logistics support contract by the JOG, which L-3 acquired with the rest of Integrated Systems in early 2002.

The JOG is based in Lexington, Ky., with 22 operating locations in nine states and four sites outside the continental United States United States territory, including the adjacent territorial waters, located within North America between Canada and Mexico. Also called CONUS. .
