). The contract, valued at $1.2 million, is for the fabrication and testing of 65 sets of assemblies for installation in the mobile transmitter units of the Mobile Automated Instrumentation Suite (MAIS MAIS Major Automated Information System (US DoD)

The MAIS system, developed for the U.S. Army Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM STRICOM Simulation Training and Instrumentation Command

), is carried by each war game player (personnel, vehicles and aircraft) during battle simulations and provides the battlefield commanders and individual players with real-time battle status data. Each player unit includes a transmitter, power amplifier, encryption controller, GPS receiver and unit controller assemblies.

The Conic Division of L-3 Communications specializes in the design and manufacture of airborne telemetry, command and control flight termination, space borne electronics, ground station command and control, range instrumentation and ground radio telecommunications products and systems.
