Kyorin Pharmaceutical to License Its Overactive Bladder Drug to Korean LG Life Sciences.


Tokyo, Japan, Aug 4, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Kyorin Pharmaceutical has signed a memorandum of understanding A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a legal document describing a bilateral or multilateral agreement between parties. It expresses a convergence of will between the parties, indicating an intended common line of action and may not imply a legal commitment.  with LG Life Sciences (LGLS LGLS Louis Goldberg Library Suppliers (Nazareth, PA) ), a Korean pharmaceutical, concerning licensing KRP-197, Kyorin's proprietary agent used in the treatment of overactive bladder. Under the memorandum, Kyorin will license LGLS to exclusively develop, manufacture, and sell KRP-197 in Korea.

Also, for a limited period of time, LGLS will exclusively be able to seek for commercial opportunities in Europe, the US and other countries.

Meantime, Kyorin will receive up-front and milestone payments, as well as royalties from LGLS. Details of the agreement will be finalized later on. Currently, Kyorin has applied for approval of KRP-197 under the trade name of Uritos Tablet.
