Kyocera Wireless and Land-Cellular Congratulate Tomra Systems on Winning QUALCOMM 3G cdmA-List Award for its Reverse Vending Solution.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Environmentally-Friendly Recycling Solution Powered by Land-Cellular's CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) A method for transmitting simultaneous signals over a shared portion of the spectrum. The foremost application of CDMA is the digital cellular phone technology from QUALCOMM that operates in the 800 MHz band and 1.9 GHz PCS band.  Modem and Kyocera's Wireless Data Module

Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless handsets and telemetry modules, and Land-Cellular Corporation, a Kyocera partner utilizing Kyocera's CDMA-based 200 Module in its proprietary telemetry devices, today congratulate Tomra Systems for being recognized at QUALCOMM's second annual 3G cdmA-List(TM) Awards during CTIA (1) See CompTIA.

Wireless IT & Entertainment 2004 in San Francisco. Tomra Systems was honored with the A-List Award amongst medium-sized companies for its innovative reverse vending solution for recycling aluminum cans, which uses Land-Cellular's wireless CDM-819s device -- powered by the Kyocera 200 Module -- to monitor its reverse vending machines in order to more efficiently collect and process used beverage containers.

"QUALCOMM, in its commitment to enabling the entire wireless value chain, is proud to work with companies such as Kyocera Wireless and Land-Cellular to help make CDMA-based mobile enterprise solutions highly successful for organizations like TOMRA Systems," said Jan Dehesh, vice president of enterprise market development for QUALCOMM. "Collaborations such as these show how 3G CDMA technology is making great strides with successful deployments that improve our world."

TOMRA designs and operates cost-effective systems that make it easy for people to return used beverage containers for reuse or recycling. Reverse vending machines are automated machines that utilize advanced technology to identify, sort, collect and process used beverage containers. The Kyocera 200 Module, which powers TOMRA's reverse vending solutions, is a leading enabler of CDMA-based M2M M2M Machine-to-Machine (communication, mainly mobile)

solutions serving a range of communication solutions for utilities, automotive and trucking fleet operators, vending operators, facility managers and others. TOMRA currently has over 50,000 reverse vending machines installed in 40 countries on four continents.

"Land-Cellular's CDM-819s, equipped with the Kyocera 200 Module, enabled TOMRA to develop communication solutions for our automated recycling systems that have helped reduce the company's installment costs by 65 percent and maintenance costs by 50 percent. This allows us to eliminate cumbersome hard-wire phone lines and the increasing costs associated with it," said Rich DeRosa, senior vice president of Service and Technology, TOMRA North America. "With this wireless solution, new installations are easier and far less costly than those requiring land line systems. CDMA technology presented the best and least expensive approach based on our system requirements, and Kyocera and Land-Cellular helped make this goal a reality."

"The success of TOMRA's reverse vending solution is a clear example of how the Kyocera 200 Module utilizes 3G CDMA technology to deliver advanced communications for M2M applications," said Dean Fledderjohn, general manager of Kyocera Wireless Corp's M2M business segment. "Kyocera is working hard with partners such as Land-Cellular to stay ahead of the needs of industries such as vending to provide scalable, reliable communication solutions that will improve ROI (Return On Investment) The monetary benefits derived from having spent money on developing or revising a system. In the IT world, there are more ways to compute ROI than Carter has liver pills (and for those of you who never heard of that expression, it means a lot).  and reduce maintenance costs associated with land line alternatives. These types of solutions and their real-world business ROIs are the driving forces behind M2M adoption by enterprise customers."

Tomra Systems was one of 8 organizations, selected from a host of innovative nominations from a wide range of companies, public agencies and nonprofit organizations, to receive an A-List Award. The annual 3G cdmA-List program was created by QUALCOMM to honor mobility at work. More information about this year's program and winners can be found at www.3gcdmalist.com.
