Kyocera Wireless Announces Two New Phones for Emerging CDMA Markets at CTIA Wireless 2005; Kyocera Topaz KX7 and Kyocera Prisma KX17 Set to Address Entry-Level International Demand.

NEW ORLEANS -- Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless phones and devices, today at CTIA Wireless 2005 unveiled two new wireless handsets designed to meet the needs of emerging CDMA markets and other International CDMA carriers seeking to offer easy-to-use entry level handsets.

The Kyocera Topaz KX7 is a sleek, silver clamshell handset and the Kyocera Prisma KX17 is a compact, silver bar phone with an internal antenna. Both new Kyocera phones feature color screens and bright blue backlit keypads for enhanced style and ease of use. Operating only on the 800MHz spectrum, both phones are ideal for International CDMA carriers seeking to offer entry-level handsets at an attractive price point. In addition to their stylish looks, Topaz and Prisma also feature a speakerphone, vibrate alert, polyphonic ringtones, SMS text messaging, and built-in wallpapers and screen savers. Both phones also support Removable User Identity Module (RUIM)(a) capabilities for storing removable phone information such as contact lists, contact information and text messages for easy portability between phones. Topaz is also BREW(TM)-enabled(a), allowing access to download additional ringtones, screensavers and wallpapers directly over the air to the phone.

Topaz KX7 and Prisma KX17 also feature predictive text-input software providing rapid text entry in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Vietnamese and Indonesian(a). Both handsets also support standard dual NAM and MIN lock for carrier restriction of phone activation on another network.

The Kyocera Topaz KX7 sustains up to 200 hours of standby time and up to 3 hours of talk time on a standard lithium ion battery, weighing only 95 grams and measuring 8.3cm x 4.5cm x 2.25cm. The Kyocera Prisma KX17 sustains up to 150 hours of standby time and up to 3 hours of talk time on a standard lithium ion battery, weighing only 85 grams and measuring 11.0cm x 4.5cm x 1.95cm.

Both phones will be available through CDMA carriers globally this summer, along with a full line of Genuine Accessories by Kyocera(TM) for enhanced style and usability.
