Kvaerner Chemetics markets Paprilox.

Following a three-year full-scale plant trial at a Canadian mill, the Paprilox process is ready for commercialization. The new poly-sulfide technology, was developed by PAPRICAN with major support from Air Liquide Canada and from Kvaerner Chemetics, which will be the worldwide exclusive marketer. Trials show that the polyliquor from the patented Paprilox process, when charged to the digester, increases pulp yield by 2% to 3%. Alternatively, the system allows mills to cook to lower kappa number while maintaining yield, resulting in lower bleaching chemical costs.
