Kurt Ramin to lead IASC XBRL efforts.

), named Kurt Ramin to lead the organization's work with XBRL International. He will relinquish his role as Commercial Director for the IASC Foundation.

The new role for Ramin is part of a restructuring of the group's publications department aimed at providing increased resources to the organization's work with eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL). Ramin is currently chairman of XBRL International and vice-chairman of XBRL in Europe. The consortium is currently developing a description and classification system for the contents of financial statements and other business-reporting documents.

Additionally, Ramin will continue working on improving electronic services related to International Financial Reporting Standards International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are standards and interpretations adopted by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

Many of the standards forming part of IFRS are known by the older name of International Accounting Standards (IAS).
