) - Kuraray Kuraray Co., Ltd (株式会社クラレ Kabushiki-gaisha Kurare  Co., Ltd. has announced the strengthening of its manufacturing facilities for VF-PE Optical-use poval film for use in LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) A display technology that uses rod-shaped molecules (liquid crystals) that flow like liquid and bend light. Unenergized, the crystals direct light through two polarizing filters, allowing a natural background color to show. . In 2005, the company's sales production for optical-use poval film doubled with the construction of factory sites still underway, to be completed in 2007.

With a forecast of further increase in demand, Kuraray is investing 70 billion yen to keep supply in line with demand. By the end of the fiscal year 2007, sales production is expected to double again.
