Kuhn to workout 1540 Broadway

Industry sources have confirmed that James D. Kuhn has been hired as a workout consultant on 1540 Broadway, the empty office tower in times Square.

A $100 million deal with Bertelsmann Group recently was rejected and sources said Price Waterhouse and Paramount Communication Inc. are now negotiating to purchase the property on which a Citicorp-led syndicate holds a $250 million mortgage. Real estate ways expect that at some point Citicorp will have to meet the market and sell the building at a loss.

Kuhn is the former executive vice-president of the Mendik Company and is the president of J.D. Kuhn Properties and has experience in both office and residential portfolio management. He would not comment on the appoint.
