Kruse receives National 4-H Award. (FYI News & Notes).


Loren Kruse, editor-in-chief of Successful Farming magazine, Des Moines, Iowa, received the 2002 National 4-H Alumni Recognition Award, the highest recognition award for 4-H alumni, at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, April 9. Secretary of Agriculture Ann Veneman bestowed the awards during her keynote address at the 72nd Annual 4-H Conference's Centennial Assembly. More than 400 youths and adult volunteer 4-H leaders representing every state in the nation attended the ceremony. Kruse was nominated for the award by the Iowa 4-H Foundation. He is past president of the foundation and received the Iowa 4-H Alumni Award in 1998 and was named to the Iowa 4-H Foundation Honor court in 2000.
